It has also stated at No. 1 on top streaming albums for now a third week in a row.

Why is This Album Popular?

What has made the album so popular is mostly the song DtMF, the song is catchy and sounds good but what drew attention was its meaning.

On TikTok, a social media platform, people were raging over the meaning behind this song which many were referencing that it was connected to the advocation so “save” Puerto Rico.

Which connects with the politics or statements of our new president where he is being noted of pushing Puerto Rico to statehood.

This caused an up rage in the Hispanic community which supposedly caused Bad Bunny to create this song.

Not only was it the meaning of this song but also its short film. Which brought people to tears through its message.

This short film consisted of an older man in Puerto Rico walking around his city and it being transformed almost to a tourist spot for Americans. This video got 17 million views.

Overall, most of the songs in the album had to do with protecting Puerto Ricos culture and how dear it is.

This portrayed through the samples of older Puerto Rican music being used for his songs. To enlighten or show his audience the importance of their land and culture.

“There is a song (referring to “LO QUE LE PASO A HAWAii”) that has to do with Hawaii and how it was taken over by the United States and the artist is basically saying that he doesn’t want Puerto Rico to turn into another Hawaii.” is what Justin Gutierrez, a student at CSHS, explained when asked if he knew any relevance behind some of the songs.

Most of the album is about this topic bringing people, specifically Puerto Ricans, to shed light on the situation being proposed and challenged by the short film and the album itself.
