THE UNBREAKABLE BOY
Looking for sentimental, sweet, and life-affiliated films to enjoy and watch? This movie sparks all emotions!
After being delayed for over two years, The Unbreakable Boy film was released on February 21, 2025. The film was supposed to be originally released on March 18, 2022, but due to it being pulled from Lionsgate’s release schedule, the movie wasn’t released.
The film was delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the filmmakers wanted it released at the “right time.”. Because Unbreakable Boy was filmed in late 2020, it was risky for both the director and staff to produce a budgeted movie at that time.
The director, Jon Gunn, an American independent film director and screenwriter, was in detail when creating this incredible movie. Like other movies, Gunn used rare camera equipment and went through blurring the line between faith-based and mainstream filmmaking.
WHAT IS THE UNBREAKABLE BOY ABOUT?
The Unbreakable Boy tells the story of Austin, a boy who was born with severe autism and brittle bones, a condition known as Osteogenesis Imperfecta.
On his journey, Austin and his family face many challenges and explore for more people to unite in his unique worldview.
This film is based on an autobiography by Scott Lerette. His book was released in 2014, it details Scott’s personal and family lives dealing with his son’s conditions after being diagnosed.
“People want and need good, real, and meaningful stories. One story, I hope, is a story for the masses. One that will make you think, cry, laugh, hurt, and most of all love at the same time,” he said.
The Unbreakable Boy shows the audience a deep understanding of the lives of the people who live with autism spectrum disorder, and people who don’t, spreading a message of hope and positivity.
