Almost three years ago, the infamous Squid Game show came out on Netflix and within the day everyone was obsessed! The show consisted of 456 people being selected to play on a game where they compete for money. When joining what they thought would be a friendly “game show” they were happy to see that after every person was eliminated it was $100,000 added to the final pot. What they didn’t know is that being eliminated meant that they would suffer a deadly fate.

“Squid Game” pulled in a staggering 1.65 billion hours of viewing in 28 days following the September 17th premiere. Though Netflix has yet to announce a season 2 many fans are making theories of what the next season might be about. Hang Dong-Hyuk the show’s creator confirmed that a second run for the famous survival drama is in the works.

If there wasn’t enough anxiety while watching squid game at first, Netflix has now come out with “Squid Game: The Challenge” to life as a reality TV competition show. Just like the show, the show has 456 contestants competing for 4.56 million dollars.

Netflix released the first five episodes on November 22nd and the next four on November 29th; on December 6th, the final episode will be released, where we can watch the final three competitors compete for the 4.56-million-dollar jackpot.

The show has games just like the original, but with their own twist. There was a Vote Test, Warship, Phone Test, Dalgona, Decision Test, and Red-light/Green-light. Though the contestants in the TV reality series didn’t die, the did have a pouch filled with a black liquid that would pop, letting the views know that they “died”.

Many former contestants have now come out to the media that they were put in terrible conditions. One said, “It was just the cruelest, meanest thing I’ve ever been through,” to Rolling Stone. Another media source said that there was medics waiting for the people that could not handle the old due to the conditions during the game “Red-Light/Green Light.” The contestants were in an airport hangar for up to nine hours standing in 30-minute intervals while they tried to find who had moved to be eliminated.

The show was shot in London, so British personal injury law firms have been hired to represent the two unnamed players who claim that they have suffered hypothermia and nerve damage while shooting “Squid Game: The Challenge.”

LeAnn, a contestant on the show that can also be known at #302, is now a “Tik Tok influencer” who posts videos about her experience on the game. She has videos about the different games that they played, what the sleeping and living conditions were like, and how she was treated by other players.

LeAnn and her son Trey came into the game as a “Mother & Son” duo who made it some of the very last games on the show.

Another contestant “Figgy”, who was number 033, is also a well-known competition show player, as she has been on the show “Survivor”. She has been going on Tik Tok Lives with Leanna and her son Trey speaking about their experiences on the show.

A spokesperson for the show has come forward saying “”No lawsuit has been filed by any of the Squid Game contestants. We take the welfare of our contestants extremely seriously.”
